Johannesburg – Tuesday, 07 April 2026 – As South Africa gets ready for the ultimate celebration of South African music excellence, METRO FM is thrilled to announce an incredible line up of hosts for the METRO FM Music Awards 2026 (MMA’s), taking place on Saturday, 25 April at the Durban ICC and the star-studded artist line-up for the award’s music festival.
The MMA’s will broadcast live on SABC 1, with livestreaming on SABC Plus at 20:00.
Leading the pack as the main hosts, is the station’s very own Midday Link Up host, Lerato Kganyago as well as actor and TV Presenter, Lawrence Maleka. The highly stylish duo is set to bring a mix of energy, style and charm to the main stage.
The excitement builds with the addition of METRO FM’s newest on-air talents, Nomuzi “Moozlie” Mabena and Siyabonga “Scoop” Ngwekazi, who will host the Green Room, keeping winners and nominees buzzing. The Black Carpet sponsored by Africa Fashion International (AFI), will be hosted by Lamiez Holworthy, METRO FM’s Penthouse Session host and DJ, ensuring a glamorous arrival for all stars. Meanwhile, METRO FM’s Zola Mhlongo will serve as the show’s V.O.G.
This year’s Music Director is Grammy Award winning music icon, Producer Zakes Bantwini. His addition to the show will elevate the music excellence theme against the backdrop of a culturally vibrant Durban.
The electrifying METRO FM Music Awards festival, to be held at Moses Mabhida Stadium, will be hosted by the Weekend Breaksfast Show and Ask a Man’s Somizi Mhlongo and Actress Hope Mbhele, promising a non-stop party to end the evening on a high note.
METRO FM Business Manager, Kina Nhlengethwa says, “This year’s METRO FM Music Awards is a milestone event which celebrates South Africa’s music journey, showcased through METRO FM’s four decades of influence. The host line up is carefully curated to reflect the awards’ mission to honor SA’s music icons and evolution.”
This year’s music festival event takes place at Moses Mabhida People’s park, and features a spectacular line up of performers such as Big Zulu, Jumbo, Big Nuz, Mthandeni, Dj Sox, Mafikizolo, Babalwa M, Khuzani, LKG and Simmy K, Young Stunna, Lamiez Holworthy, Mgarimbe, Dladla Mshunqisi and Beast, Distruction Boyz, Dj Tira and Dankie Boy.

Tickets for the awards ceremony taking place at the Durban ICC are available on Computicket in two categories: Block E and F (R1100.00) and Auditorium Seating (R750.00). The event takes place at 45 Bram Fischer Road, Durban, with limited secure paid parking and disabled facilities available.
